BES reflects on the search for the 2026 Arts Writing Incubator

Big Ideas

We got a huge number of applications for this year’s Arts Writing Incubator, which focuses not on individual writers per se but people who are creating platforms to cultivate other people’s arts critical thinking. We selected 6 incredible people—learn more about them at this link—and took the opportunity to reflect upon trends, patterns, and insights from the pool as a whole. Public Programming

Summer 2025
Brittany Moná is our Summer ‘25 Current Resident, a mail art project that sends the work of black artists to all residents of distinct Seattle zip codes. This time around, however, we included Moná’s work in the Pride Edition of Seattle Gay News—their work is included in print copies dropped throughout Seattle, and adaptations of the work can be found in ad placements across the Seattle Gay News website. More details can be found here.
