Public Programs
Throughout the year, we host conversations and collaborations amongst black artists, curators, and writers.
Our initiatives aim to continually re-think the possibilities of “public programming” in in order to support rather than tax the writers, artists, curators, and publics who make art worlds happen. We have done everything from traditional 45-minute artist talks to recorded Zoom conversations to back-end developmental support to mail art projects. The format we are liking these days is Current Resident, where we commission black artists to create work that is inserted into the free, weekly grocery mailers that reach nearly every household in Seattle.
