About the Participant

Jeremy Samuel Johnson

Jeremy Samuel Johnson  is a Houston native with a passion for language and literature. He received his B.A. in English from the University of Houston. They have read poems with Public Poetry, and written personal essays about mental health and music that have appeared in The Huffington Post. His writing was included in Nathaniel Donnett’s “What’s the New News” in 2018. They are the 2024 Mitchell Center–UH Coastal Center Writer in Residence.

Jeremy works as Operations and Exhibitions Manager for Lawndale Art & Performance Center in Houston, Tx where he bikes, walks and talks to himself, to plants and other people.
